Heading into only their second year as a club team, the CFC GU11 team captured the Spring Cup Championship in a low scoring, 1-0, defensive battle. The girls defeated the Greater Long Beach Blackout, having lost a tough 1-2 match to that club earlier in the tournament. The girls earned their chance for the title bout after beating a physical Xplosion SC team in PK's earlier in the day.
Unwilling to be hobbled by the San Bernardino heat, Ass't Coach Kevin Lester and Team Trainer Christy Medlin rallied the girls in the tough final to earn the Cup, their second championship as a club.
